Students Pledge/News/Dt31.08.2021 – Supporting 25 September Bharat Bandh called by Samyukt Kisan Morcha and strongly condemning the barbaric Lathi Charge on the protesting farmers at Karnal, Haryana, Sourav Ghosh, the General Secretary of All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) has issued the following press statement. “For more than 9 months, farmers have been protesting against three black agricultural laws and electricity bill Since the inception of this historic farmers’ movement, AIDSO has been standing with the farmers with the slogan “Students of the Country stand with the Farmers” and protesting against the inhuman attitude of the central government. In order to safeguard the interest of the capitalists, the central government is implementing anti-people policies even during this Corona pandemic. As a result of which people from all sections of the country are losing their livelihood. In the education sector, by implementing the National Education Policy 2020, the privatization-commercialisation, vocationalisation, centralization and communalisation of education has been intensified further. Against the anti-education, anti-farmer and anti-people policies of the government, the students’ organization – AIDSO will mobilize the students across the country to make the “Bharat Bandh” called by Samyukt Kisan Morcha on September 25, a grand success. It is to be noted that a protesting farmer died recently due to the barbaric and deadly lathi charge on farmers in Karnal, Haryana. Protesting this inhuman attitude of the government and administration, AIDSO will also observe Martyr’s Day on 1st September 2021, in memory of the farmers who have laid down their life so far in the farmers’ movement.
AIDSO urges upon the people of the country in general and students, in particular, to strengthen the movement across the country to thwart the three black Agricultural Laws, Electricity Bill 2020 and National Education Policy 2020.
